As stewards of Baja’s unique landscape, we built our community with an eye toward energy conservation. Every structure on the Maravilla property is powered to support our sustainable mission, using LED-powered light sources, high-efficiency temperature controls, and eco-friendly cleaning products.
Blue Flag Certified
Both beaches at Maravilla, Santa Maria Beach and Las Viudas Beach, received Blue Flag certification in view of our sustainable development efforts, and our state-of-the-art desalination equipment purifies seawater for use throughout the property.
An onsite wastewater facility produces treated water to maintain landscaping from Maravilla's nursery, which is home to 40,000 preserved native plants.
Our approach to development is simple -- we let the land be our guide. By preserving the desert arroyos, rock outcroppings and native flora, we have created a community that does not overstep the bounds of nature and minimizes any impact to the natural Baja landscape.
To further conserve our water resources, we collect wastewater through the onsite sewer system and filter it through our Wastewater Treatment Plant, where water is carefully treated and reused to water our green areas.
We're proud of our progress – but we’re not finished yet. We're currently working with leading industry experts to examine our environmental impact at Maravilla and identify new ways to reduce our carbon footprint.
